    The main objective of the school health program is to obtain and maintain optimal health of all of our young people. 

    Among the school health services implemented to accomplish these objectives are:

    Vision, hearing, and color perception screenings Vision Referral

    Height/weight growth charts Positive School Snacks

    Record of immunizations (see below for immunization requirements by grade level)

    Physical exams at the mandated grades; Grades Pre-K or K and new entrants Health Appraisal Form

    Health education 

    Screening and follow-up of children regarding communicable health problems

    First-aid

    Administration of medication and treatments per physician order Administration of Medication at School

    The school nurse is available throughout the day in case of illness, injury, or other health related concern. Student's visiting the health office will be evaluated on an individual basis. Parent's will be notified by phone if a student's injury or illness is of concern. When to Keep Your Student home

     

    Additionally, classroom presentations are done at each grade level relating to health issues such as disease prevention, nutrition, personal safety and abuse prevention, growth, development and maintaining good health.

    4 doses of DTaP- Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis vaccine

    3 doses of IPV- Polio vaccine

    1 dose of MMR- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella vaccine

    3 doses of Hepatitis B vaccine

    1 dose of Varicella-chickenpox vaccine

    4 doses of Hib- Haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate vaccine

    4 doses of PCV- Pneumococcal Conjugate vaccine
