Dear Batavia Blue Devils Community,
Last week, the New York State Education Department released official reopening schools guidance for districts across New York State to reference as they redesign their school to reopen and provide a safe and healthy learning environment.
The Reopen Batavia Strong Task Force, which is composed of parents, students, and staff has been meeting weekly to discuss and develop plans for reopening. The task force decided that it would be critical for parents to make an informed decision on how they will want their child educated for the 2020-21 school year. Therefore, we are launching an online registration form that is now open for parents/ guardians to fill out.
The Reopen Batavia Strong registration form will also be mailed to the home of parents/ guardians. Schools will also be calling any parents who do not submit or provide a choice for 2020-21.
The registration information will be used by each school building to help develop a reopening plan that maximizes the use of space, potentially increases in-person learning and meets the needs of their community.
Please note, that ultimately the Governor of New York will make a decision on whether schools reopen the week of August 1-7.
Please take a moment and fill out a registration form for every child in your household.
Thank you for your patience and unwavering support as we continue to move forward in an unprecedented time. We are better, together!
WE are Batavia!!!
