Mrs. McBride's Page

  • This year I will be teaching 5th and 6th grade reading. Our units will focus on supporting the ELA modules; as we build background knowledge, expand vocabulary and strengthen comprehension. One of the most important things you can do for your children is to have them read and write as often as possible. The sky is the limit with what they read from a newspaper, to the cereal box, a favorite magazine or possibly reading to a younger sibling. The more creative you are the more practice they get at sounding out words and strengthening their fluency. Wouldn't it be nice to get some help on writing the grocery list or a honey-do list? Have fun thinking outside the box!
