Math Information

  •       Welcome back to our 2017-2018 school year!  I am a Math Intructor at John Kennedy.  This is my 13th year of teaching in the Batavia City School District.  I began my career in Batavia as one of the Gifted and Talented teachers.  In 2011, I took on the role as the Elementary Math Instructor. I am very fortunate to be in this position; I Love Math!

I have the benefit of working with students in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades!  This helps guide my instruction for the current year.  I know the content that my students learned in the previous year and what they will be exposed to in the following school year.

A big part of my day involves John Kennedy's WIN program.  This stands for 'What I Need'.  Once I determine what each student needs, I build my daily and weekly plans accordingly.  This may include challenging students with higher level thinking math problems.  It may involve strengthening certain skills that students are struggling with in the classroom. It depends on what topic the students are working on in their classrooms.

I look forward to meeting parents and seeing my students outside of the regular school day.  There are many events that are held at John Kennedy throughout the year.  I try to make it to many of these special nights (Open House, the Color Run, Family Reading Night, Pasta Night and many more.)
