Welcome to my Classroom Page!
My name is Meaghan Tederous, and I am very excited to start my second school year with all of you at Batavia Middle School. I was born and raised in Dunkirk, NY, and I currently reside in Buffalo, NY. After I graduated from High School, I went on to study English and Secondary Education and St. Bonaventure Univeristy. I spent my graduate years at St. Bonaventure as well, where I received my Master's Degree in Differentiated Instruction. In my spare time I love to read, dance, spend time with my family and friends, and listen to music. Education is extremely important to me, and being a teacher is something I take great pride in. Every school year I look forward to learning new things, taking new approaches, and getting to know my students and faculty members. I can't wait to start the '19-'20 school year at BMS!
This year in 8th grade ELA, we will be reading four novels, writing argumentatively, citing textual evidence, and preparing for our state exam in April. Every unit completed in 8th grade follows along with the four novels we read during the year. We will be reading Inside Out and Back Again, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Omnivore's Dilemma, and Unbroken. At BMS we follow the New York State modules, and you can find information regarding the content curriculum here: Curriculum Map 8th Grade ELA
If you have any questions about the content, novels, or classroom assignments; feel free to contact me via email or telephone.
