During Reading is Magical week, Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Capone's class learned about "Author's Purpose". We learned that writers might want to persuade their readers, to share information with them, or just entertain them! The class took a tour of the Jackson Media Center's non-fiction section to get a glimpse of just how many informational books are available!
Friends in Mrs. Shuknecht’s class played Sound Smash with playdoh and Swat It with teen numbers! We love learning letters, numbers and sounds through play!

Today in Mrs. Clark’s extended year kindergarten room students practiced teen numbers with shaving cream and wrote CVC words!
Today for Accelerated Academy with Mrs. Pugh and Mrs. Sputore we read a different version of the fairy tale story, The Three Little Pigs. In this version the Wolf felt left out because he was a wolf and the pigs decided to help him "calm down" and feel better . Students made their own popsicle stick pigs to go along with the story and then were given the task to complete a house fit for the Wolf and his wants and needs based on the story. They were very creative and some students even provided a welcome mat in front of the Wolf's new house!
