We are very excited to announce that two of our students, Gavenn (Grade 4) and Morgenn Surabian (Grade 2), are working on a recycling project and have invited JK to participate!
The Surabian family has partnered with a recycling company that takes shoes that are in less-than-desired condition to break down the materials to use and create new shoes. The newly created shoes are then returned to the Surabians to be distributed to families in need directly in our community as well as those affected by natural disasters around the world.
Students and staff are encouraged to donate old shoes that they are not using anymore. We will accept shoes in ANY condition!
Each teacher will be given a collection bin with their name on it to keep in their classrooms. Collection begins on Earth Day, April 22 and will end on May 21. The class that collects the most shoes will win an ice cream social!
