One Perfect ACT Score and Two PSAT Commended Students

BHS Principal Paul Kesler had the honor of presenting two students from the senior class - Andrew Lin and Maggie Andersen - with outstanding awards.

Andrew was congratulated for two exceptional accomplishments. First, he earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT test, which is an achievement met by less than 0.2% of ACT test-takers. Secondly, he was named a Commended Student for the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program, an honor that recognizes great academic promise based on the student’s PSAT score. Andrew intends to attend college and major in engineering.

Maggie was also a high scorer on the PSAT and was recognized as having exceptional academic promise by being named a Commended Student for the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. Maggie has plans to enter the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.

Both the ACT and the SAT scores are used by many colleges as part of the admissions decision process. The PSAT is the Preliminary SAT.
