Update from NYS Governor's Office on May 1, 2020

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced earlier today (May 1, 2020) that all New York schools (including colleges) will remain closed for the rest of the 2019-2020 academic year. Distance learning will continue for the rest of the year, as will the distribution of free Grab and Go breakfasts and lunches for students and family members under 18 years of age. (The previous executive order had closed schools through May 15 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.).

Looking to the future, districts have been asked to begin brainstorming a re-opening plan so that protocols can be in place once it is deemed prudent to have students return to school.
