Construction Career Day Provided Insights Into Trades

BHS students from Mark Warren’s Math for Trades class and Karen Mosgeller’s Life Skills class took advantage of the opportunity to attend the Rochester Construction Career Day held at the Monroe County Fleet Center. At approximately 25 exhibits, attendees were able to gain some hands-on exposure to tools of the trade in heavy machinery, bricklaying, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical careers. There were also booths from local colleges, employers, apprenticeship programs, and trade unions. Over 800 local students attended the event; our students’ arrangements were completed through the BHS College and Careers office.

Students were able to have a turn operating an excavator.
