Kindergarteners Explore Five Senses

Kindergarten students in Tiffanie Amerine’s class wrapped up their unit on the five senses with a close exploration of each. They were able to use hand lenses to magnify items, and were often surprised at the details of how the common items looked when seen with enhanced vision. When rubber bands were stretched across different containers, the students had fun predicting the pitch of each “instrument” that was plucked. When it came to smelling and tasting, the students were reminded that different people have varying likes and dislikes. Overall, Mrs. Amerine’s kindergarteners enjoyed exploring their own senses, as well as learning about how their friends were the same and different when it came to how their senses worked!
