Mrs. Gahagan and Mrs. Leone Receive BCSD Foundation Apple Awards

BMS teacher Sarah Gahagan and BMS counselor Lindsey Leone, who are co-advisors for the B-Squad at Batavia Middle School, were presented with a BCSD Foundation Apple Award. They were nominated by parents of the B-Squad members who noted that, “Mrs. Gahagan and Mrs. Leone are educators who go above and beyond the classroom duties to lead this group of boys to a healthier way of living. The running schedule prepared for the boys allowed them to meet with local business owners and learn about what it takes to be successful. We want to thank them for all they do for our sons and for their time and dedication to improving the boys’ futures."

The BCSD Foundation Apple Award is given to a District employee or volunteer who is nominated by an individual or group for their extraordinary dedication and contribution to the District. Each award, a resin apple, is individually made by local artist Mark Jensen, making the award unique, as is the recipient. More information about the BCSD Foundation, the Award, and how to submit a nomination is accessible from the BCSD Foundation page of the District's website.
