Mrs. Deborah Murray, Retired Teacher, is an Outstanding Community Member

Deborah Murray was presented with an Outstanding Community Member Award by Board of Education president Patrick Burk at the BCSD Board meeting on June 18. She was nominated by Jillion Mooney, who wrote, “Though Mrs. Murray is retired, she continues to remain dedicated to the Batavia City Schools through her work with the STAR program at Robert Morris. Mrs. Murray goes above and beyond for all of the children she works with to help and encourage their success both in the classroom and community. She is truly loved by all those she works with. Her positive attitude and willingness to help are seen daily through her words and actions. One word to describe Mrs. Murray would be ‘giving’. She gives praise and finds the good in all to help inspire kids to be their best. She gives opportunities to her students to get better each and every day. Her patience and genuine confidence in all her students does not go unnoticed. Finally, she gives kids a purpose and sense of becoming part of something bigger in the world.”
