It has been a fun three weeks at Batavia since Thanksgiving, filled with concerts, the start of winter sports, holiday fun at all of our schools, and, of course, our continued commitment to high-quality and rigorous instruction through our Professional Learning Community process for teachers and staff.

As we approach the holiday season and prepare for our winter recess, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the many accomplishments of BCSD and express my sincere gratitude to each of you.

This season offers an opportunity to pause and appreciate the dedication, resilience, and care that define the Batavia City School District and our Blue Devils! Our students continue to inspire us with their curiosity, dedication, flexibility, and perseverance. Our BCSD faculty and staff consistently go above and beyond to support learning and well-being. Our families and community partners remain invaluable allies in our shared mission to help every student succeed. I am also grateful to our dedicated Board of Education, who serve as thoughtful and kind stewards of our school community.

May the coming days provide time for rest, reflection, and meaningful moments with family and friends. Whether you celebrate a particular holiday or simply enjoy the break, may this season bring peace, joy, and renewed energy for the year ahead.

Winter recess is Monday, December 22, through Friday, January 2. School offices will be open throughout the two weeks, except for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Our office hours are 8am-3pm, should you have any questions.
