Dear Batavia Blue Devil Parents and Guardians, Per Governor Cuomo's orders the district and schools are required to host a series of Virtual Town Halls to review reopening plans and to address frequently asked questions regarding the reopening of schools under New York State Department of Health and Education guidelines.
In an effort to better prepare our teachers and staff for a successful and safe reopening, the Board of Education at its August 10th meeting has approved a change in the school calendar to have students start school on September 14th. Teachers and staff will report on September 8th for training and preparation for the 2020-21 school year.
Dear Batavia Blue Devils Community, Included in this post you will find an information graphic that highlights our Reopen Batavia Strong plan for the 2020-21 school year. The district will be implementing a hybrid model of learning (in-person and remote) along with a 100% virtual learning option for parents who choose that model of learning for their child(ren). Please know that this plan will allow us to meet all the New York State Department of Health requirements and is in alignment with the New York State Education Department guidance.
