Superintendent Update: Friday, May 17, 2024

Dear Batavia Families and Community,

It has been a busy and fun spring throughout BCSD so far, but next Tuesday is an important day for our district—the Board of Education Election and Budget Vote for the 2024-25 school year.

This will be a shorter update than usual, as I want to address just a few important items.

Here is the information you need to know going into next week’s vote:

  • The Annual Report and Budget Newsletter may be found here.

This newsletter contains an update from me, important budget information, Board of Education candidate profiles, and some amazing stories and highlights of some of our programs across BCSD.

You can also watch our Budget Hearing held at our Board of Education meeting earlier this week.

  • Voting details are as follows:

Polls are open on Tuesday, May 21, from 11:00 am-9:00 pm.

Residents living north of Main Street (Route 5) vote at Robert Morris

Residents living south of Main Street (Route 5) vote at Batavia High School

We have also updated our end-of-year calendar, which can be found here. The updates occur from time to time due to contractual requirements and the extent to which the District has used emergency closing days (“snow days”).

Note that the last day of school is now Monday, June 24—and it will be a half-day dismissal. Batavia High School students will still observe the posted final exam schedule.

I would like to remind all families to go to Parent Square and complete the Transportation Form for each child in your household for the 2024-25 school year. If you need assistance or more information, please contact our Business Office at 585-343-2480, ext 1002.

Please remember to vote on Tuesday, May 21—we look forward to a good turnout.

As always, thank you for your continued support of our students and programs.
